Departments
Teams of agents with a Lead, goals, budgets, shadow mode and earned autonomy.
Departments are teams of agents organised like your company: each one has a Lead, its own goals, permissions and budget, and works on scheduled missions. You find them under Your team.
Available departments
CEO Office, Finance, Sales, Operations, People, Marketing, Account management, Support and Procurement. In your personal space there is also a Personal Assistant. Pick the ones you need when you set up a workspace — the role you choose during onboarding (owner, sales, finance or operations) suggests a starting set.
How a department works
- The Lead runs a short daily stand-up and writes a weekly plan every Monday against the department’s KPIs. Use Talk to the Lead to ask what it is doing and why.
- Each department has its own page with Overview, Approvals, Autonomy and Shadow tabs.
- HQ shows the whole company at a glance: which departments are working, which are waiting on you and the work passing between them.
- Activity → Outcomes shows what the agents did and the time they saved, per department.
Shadow mode
Finance, Marketing, Account management, Support and Procurement start in Shadow: they read your real data and plan real work, but nothing is written or sent. The Shadow tab replays the last days so you can see what the department would have done. Switch it to Live when you are happy.
Autonomy and permissions
On the Autonomy tab you decide, for each kind of action — drafting, sending, paying, deleting — whether the department acts, asks you first, or never does it. You can let it approve small amounts on its own below a limit you set, and restrict which tools, operations and email domains it may use under Permissions.
Autonomy can also be earned. When a department has had about 30 decisions on an operation in 30 days and you approved at least 95% of them unchanged, Elio proposes letting it act alone. The proposal waits in your approvals. The permission is withdrawn automatically after an incident or two rejections in a week.
Budgets
Each department has a monthly AI budget. You get an alert at 80%; at 100% non-critical missions pause until the next month, and critical ones keep running on a cheaper model.
Learning from you
- When you correct the same thing several times, the department proposes a skill so it stops making the mistake. Skills live in one library under Skills, where you can also import them.
- Corrections about a specific client or vendor are remembered for that client or vendor.
- The Change log on the Approvals tab lists every change a department made in the Pipeline, with undo. Emails already sent and changes pushed to Flex can’t be undone.
AI Council
The Council brings the department Leads together to discuss a question and recommend a course of action. Owners and admins decide on its recommendations.
Company profile
In Settings → Company profile, describe your company once — services, customers, brand voice, competitors, how you work, vendors, goals and links. Click Draft it for me to start from your website, then edit and Confirm each section. Every department reads the sections it needs; each section shows which departments use it. Owners and admins can edit it.
Who manages a department’s autonomy, skills and proposals: workspace owners and admins, plus the person who created or owns the department.
